After more than a decade of growth despite the challenges of the Mauritian market, the Group’s board of directors have taken the decision to put resources into businesses with a focus on professional services. According to Dirish Noonaram, founder of VENDI Group “With the use of AI and now gen-AI in a number of industries, opportunities abound to re-imagine many services lines. That is why we have been in discussion with a number of potential partners notably from India and South Africa to build capabilities and bring experts to join VENDI group in this new adventure”. AI and gen-AI are being used in branding, communications, advertising. New technology is also being used in speech to text.
Many of those AI apply statistical principles which the founders are familiar with, having used them regularly in research work for subsidiary company VERDE Frontier. Dirish Noonaram says that “At VERDE our teams have been using cluster, linear and bayesian models since 2015. We have experience and proven results of applying those models together with decision-tree models and neural networks.”
Whilst those principles are being used by engine with high processing capabilities, the Group now believes that the future lies in developing AI and gen-AI solutions in services related industries. Discussions with potential partners and projects remain ongoing for the Group to shift its focus to such new opportunities.
